Come Dine With Doreen – Broccoli Bolognese

I will be sharing some of the recipes that I will be cooking up while I am preparing to compete in The Tabban Dream Team.
No need to eat bland foods as using herbs and spices can add a lot of flavour to my meals. You will find some basic recipes here in the next few months with simple ways to make them taste great. Starting with my version of bolognese with out the pasta!
500 grams organic lean beef mince
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
3/4 of a cup tomato puree
3/4 of a cup water
2 cloves of diced fresh garlic
Half a red or green chilli
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 bay leaf
2 broccoli florets
Heat non stick pan with coconut oil
Fry garlic and fresh chilli until cooked
Add minced beef cook until browned
Take the meat out of pan strain and rinse
Place mince back into pan
Add tomato puree
Place all your dry herbs and seasoning to mince
Add water to mince and cook on low heat for at least 30 mins
Place fresh broccoli into a pot of water broccoli until just cooked
Place cooked broccoli onto a plate and top with half the bolognese.
This makes 2 serves
You can freeze for a meal to go or have a lunch or dinner prepared ahead of time
Planning and preperation is not only for athletes and people wanting to lose weight. It is the key to setting yourself up for a week of great eating and not waiting until you are hungry to start cooking your meals. It is already to be heated and served. Great for warm winter meals.
